Top Droppers Day: March 2009

Published by *lynne* under Traffic & Links Edit This

Entrecard March 2009 amalaysianabroad.today.com

As you can see above, my drops were rather erratic this month.  You can even see the hole during my time in Switzerland, LoL!  Based on recent developments, I won’t be dropping 300 a day anymore.  This is also probably my last participation in the Top Droppers Day on this blog.

All the more reason for a special *\wave/* to my Top Droppers of March 2009, as at 4:20pm CST 20090331, according to the EC Stats page.  … drumroll please…!

.

Cheers, and thanks for all the drops!

.. so long, and thanks for all the …

… drops?!

If you’ve been visiting today.com blogs recently, you will have noticed most of us bidding adieu to Entrecard… but wait!  There’s been a change of heart!  Instead of banning the Entrecard widget outright, the powers that be have allowed a malaysian abroad and other blogs within this system to go ahead and hang on to it if we want… subject to some conditions, blah blah blah, yadda yadda yadda.

Yay!  kinda…

After some consideration, I have decided that I WILL be keeping my EC widget.  However, I will NOT be investing much time in EC anymore.  Similar to what Stefan said a while back, I will no longer be visiting to drop my card.  Instead, I’ll be visiting those on my blogroll, and if they happen to have an EC widget, then I’ll drop my card.  If they don’t, that’s more than fine - I’m there to read and interact, not to drop.

I’ll be keeping the widget because I think it’s still a great way for people to find me, and for me to find them.  I will probably still visit my top ten droppers as listed in the EC stats page.  I might occasionally reciprocate visits from my inbox: the thing is, I find it’s just too easy to get caught up in the drop-and-run habit, and reciprocal drops breed that habit.  I have to put my foot down and say No More.

Care to join me?  :)

So once again, if you’re blogging about expat life, or travel, or have a great perspective on a specific town or country, or something that might seem related to what I’ve just described, …  and you don’t see your site in my list …, please drop me a line and point me your way, okay?  I’m more than happy to add you to my (what i hope will be a) daily to-read list.

… And for those who do not fall in the above categories?  How about subscribing to a malaysian abroad’s rss feed, and also check out Life After Work, my older Mixed Bag blog while I figure things out?  I think I might be testing the limits of Google Reader soon!

Cheers,
*lynne*
