The Postcard/Link Exchange of 2009!
I’ll be hopping over to Malaysia and Switzerland in February/March, thus providing an opportunity for The Postcard/Link Exchange of 2009! It will be run slightly differently than before, but the basics are the same: you get a postcard, I get some linky love! Yes, we’re talking a physical snail-mail postcard with images of Malaysia, exotic foreign stamps, my scribbled handwriting, and all!

Interested? Here’s how you can get ONE postcard from Malaysia from me:
- Email me [azlynne1972 at gmail dot com] your name & postal address. Email subject line needs to contain “The Postcard/Link Exchange of 2009“. [NOTE: Do NOT leave the information in the comments for the whole WWW to see and abuse! By all means leave me a comment saying you’ve emailed me the info - comment love is always appreciated!]
- Only requests received by February 20th, 2009 will be entertained.
- You should receive your postcard by the first week of March.
- Sometime between March 6th - 16th 2009 (providing an additional buffer in case the card took a circuitous route to you), you then publish a post on your blog relating to the received postcard: criticize my handwriting!; take a picture of it in your mailbox; puzzle over the image on the stamp; whatever, be creative! Please make sure you link back to a malaysian abroad (http://amalaysianabroad.today.com/) *and* to this post (http://tinyurl.com/AMA-PLX2009).
- Once published, come back to this post and drop me a comment with the permalink to your postcard-related post, so I can visit, see what you wrote, and give you some comment love right back.
With that, we will have successfully conducted The Postcard/Link Exchange of 2009: you get a postcard, I get some linky love :) Please note that I will probably post a recap of the entire exercise, and those who successfully participated will then get some linky love right back.
But wait!! There’s more!! If you want to receive ANOTHER postcard (for a total of *gasp!* t*w*o postcards!), please go ahead and fulfill these following items in addition to those specified above:
- Between now and February 10th 2009, publish a post on your blog where you talk about participating in The Postcard/Link Exchange of 2009. The post must once again include a link to a malaysian abroad (http://amalaysianabroad.today.com/) *and* to this post (http://tinyurl.com/AMA-PLX2009). Feel free to copy the image to post on your own site.
- Once published, come back to this post and drop me a comment with the permalink to your participation post, so I can visit and verify it.
- I’ll send you a postcard during the week of Feb 16th; hopefully it will reach you the following week.
- Since it functions as a thank you for having given me some linky love beforehand, there’s no need to blog a second time about this second (but probably received first) postcard.
I hope the above terms are clear.. please drop me a line in the comments if you need clarification.

And in case you were wondering…. I pledge that I will not abuse the information provided: your name and address will be used only for the purposes of this postcard/link exchange - no record will be kept, and the email will be deleted by the end of March 2009.
I look forward to your participation! Let’s make The Postcard/link Exchange of 2009 a resounding success!

Hi! Just letting you know I’ve sent you an email. This sounds like fun!
What a great idea! I like that it’s more than just the leave me 500 comments, post a 1,000 word post about me, or sign up to receive my 20 e-mails a day type contest.
I sent you my info and look forward to receiving the postcard.
ooohhh…. sounds fun. But can I join too?
Arlene: I look forward to receiving your email!
Laneerg & Jennifer: thanks for participating! I have already received your details via email
Lina: Sure! If you don’t mind receiving a local Malaysian postcard
The last time, I had two countries on offer, so Malaysians could receive a postcard from Switzerland, but I found it was too expensive to repeat :p
Hi Lynne
That’s an excellent idea - count me in! I’ll send you an email in a minute with my details.
Roz
I’ve just written about this on my blog at: http://lifeinaustralia.today.com/2009/02/03/an-invitation-to-join-the-postcardlink-exchange-of-2009/

Wishing you success,
Roz
