Published by *lynne* under Traffic & Links Edit This

It’s the end of February / start of March already??

a malaysian abroad’s drop pattern for Feb 2009
my drops on others - Feb 2009
… any guesses when my vaykay started? LoL!!

I’d like to take a quick aside from Malaysia, Switzerland and the USA and instead shine the spotlight on the following 10 bloggers from within the Entrecard system who have visited this blog consistently / most often over the past 30 days. … considering my own dropping habits were disrupted by my vaykay (see right!), I do appreciate the continued visits by others, which I’d like to think shows that their visits here are not necessarily just out of reciprocation, but by actually wanting to drop by and see what I have to say :)

That said… it would be nice to see more expat/travel blogs in the list… something to work on once I get back :)

And the Top Ten Entrecard droppers of February 2009 are…

  1. Dunia soer (make money, seo, blogging, personal diary)
  2. BMWF1Blog (Get it here! Everything BMW Sauber F1… Follow the BMW Sauber F1 team through everything from team and driver editorials to news and all the buzz surrounding BMW Sauber F1)

  5. Moshi & Kibo’s Dog Blog (Moshi and Kibo are 2 English Toy Spaniels that share their travels, great finds and general thoughts on life with the dogosphere and the rest of the world)
  6. ThemeLib (ThemeLib offer Free Quality Blogger Templates, promote beautiful Wordpress Themes and publish articles on Blogging Tips and Web Stuff related to blogging)
  7. The Way I See It (My thoughts, opinions and personal observations on a wide variety of subjects, sometimes mixed with humor and including travel, retirement, opinion, politics, child sponsorship with Children International and life experiences. News and views from my perspective)
  8. I am Harriet (I am inspired by people who make a difference in the world or in the lives of others because it is the right thing to do)
  9. Prague (Golden Prague, Expat life, tips and reviews: Things to do and to avoid in the Golden City of Prague)

A tip of the hat to Parental Instincts who also appears in my other blog’s (Life After Work ) Top 10.

I do not usually do this, but since I was SO inconsistent MAKING drops, I am doubly appreciative of those who continued to drop on me this month, so I am sending 100 ECs to y’all 10 as a small token of appreciation :)

Cheers,

addendum to the tea post

Published by *lynne* under Malaysia Edit This

… it turns out I missed out on another variation of how to order your tea in Malaysia.

I noticed that my parents were occasionally ordering teh panas to accompany their breakfast.  But, that’s “hot tea”?  How is that different from teh?

Two Teas
Two Teas

Very, it seems.

Supposedly panas (meaning hot) is the code word for “not pulled”.
Since when??

A teh panas is thus delivered with a layer of sweetened condensed milk at the bottom of the mug.

This photo shows my teh o limau kosong on the left and my father’s teh panas on the right.

What puzzles me is the tea part is already milky, and I assume sweet.

However, my parents like this style now because (it gives them the illusion that) they consume less sugar this way. If you want, you can stir the drink a little, mixing some of the sweetened condensed milk into the rest of your tea. Otherwise, you get to the mega-sweet only at the end of your drink, and you stop when it’s too sweet.

I don’t get it.

I think I’ll just stick to my teh tarik when feeling unhealthy, or teh oh (ais) limau when trying to be healthier.
