… make sure you don’t strip and stroll in the Appenzell Innerrhoden canton anymore!
You see, this canton has has been the butt of an increasing number of German “free body culture” enthusiasts, and locals just couldn’t bare the sight anymore. Last year, authorities detained one such hiker, but since there were no laws in place prohibiting birthday suit promenades, he had to be released without even a fine.
This time around, in an attempt to rebuff said visitors, laws have been passed before hiking season begins, mandating stiff fines for those found hiking in their version of the Emperor’s new clothes.
I imagine the fines would be issued no matter if the treks were to take place at the crack of dawn, or in the moonlight.
Hmmm, I wonder if the bummed-out free body culture enthusiasts had tear-streaked faces upon hearing the news?
Got any more puns to add?
You can read more here: this article is also the source of the image above (sans bum box).

This blog is not quite two months old, but officially logs slightly over 200 unique visits a day, mainly thanks to Entrecard. As such, I’d like to take a little time to acknowledge the Top Droppers of the past 30 days on a malaysian abroad, as at 00:15hrs 31 January 2009, as sourced from my EC Statistics page.
The envelope, please!
… my thanks to everyone listed above for their regular visits. It would be nice to have more expat-related blogs on this list, but I ain’t complaining! I’m happy for the traffic, and I enjoy traveling around the blogosphere with my daily 300 drops. It now takes about 2 hours, since I do take the time to at least scan every blog, and try to comment whenever something piques my interest.
And since I’m in a generous mood, I’d like to also acknowledge my Top Dropaholics on this site, also as at 00:15hrs 31 January 2009:
Continuing on the topic of linky love… Back in the Summer of 2007, I had a “I’ll send you a postcard” giveaway… I’ll be holding another one in February… details coming soon… stay tuned!
Cheers to all, and have a great weekend!
